It took me a while to pull the trigger on a face saver head gear. I have a big nose and this one has the bar a good 3/4” almost 1 inch away from my nose. I like it a lot. I read some of the other reviews and people say “the leather smells”…..are you people crazy? That’s the smell of a real quality boxing product! Reyes being one of the BEST in the world for decades! After sparring with this headgear and taking jabs and straight shots right to the face….I was totally glad I bought it. this headgear does exactly what it’s supposed to do, prevent broken nose or eye injuries. I’m very impressed, 5 starsSparred with it for the first time today. After receiving a few stiff jabs and a few straight rights, my big nose thanked me immediately. I feel that I had to work a little harder on head movement since the target (my head) is so much bigger now. However that may be a good thing because I slipped more jabs than usual and escaped some gnarly situations. Blows to the side from hooks were absorbed well. My neck is a little sore but the solution to that is simple- don't get hit in the head so much! Works as advertised so and I came out of my sparring session feeling satisfied with my choice of gear. I rated 4 stars out of 5 simply because I haven't had it long enough to qualify a perfect rating.Probably one of the best headgear years I’ve usedVery good protection and fit but the chin bar extends out alot.Good: extra distance from your face or nose being hit and breathing is not obstructedbad: it's easier for your sparring partner to reach your face. I guess you just have to move your head faster to avoid getting hit.Great quality and great visibility, but has a strong chemical smell. I’m too old to get my nose broken again and this works!very strong smell. Several times I washed in a washing machine, a month passed and she still strongly panetes, but already for less, and at first she smelled the entire martial arts hallLove my headgear. I used other face savers where the bar was thick and close to the face where you’d breathe back in your warm air making it harder to breathe. This one doesn’t do that. Deff worth the money!I hated getting punched in the nose, and this absolutely ends that. Its only fault is that it leaves your chin open (took an unpleasant blow to the jaw), but I guess that's also not a bad way to train you to tuck your chin down. Altogether, it's best headgear I've ever tried.
