I was apprehensive to get these masks based on the negative reviews. But I also didn’t want to buy a lot of single masks, even from the same company. It’s just easier & way neater to store something that you have many of when they’re all the same size/dimension.I know the “mask rule” has been lifted, but my daughter is immunocompromised so she will continue to wear masks to school (which is where germs fly free & wide). We have tried many different masks from many different companies; none really stand out. I mean, they’re all just face coverings (unless you’re going for maximum protection with filters & full face visors, etc, etc). I tried out the heftier options but it was hard for my daughter to breathe, so we just stuck to a normal mask with thicker fabric or at least 2 layers of fabric. Now that it’s summer, simple one layer mask works best. That’s what these are — a set of simple, one layer masks. They’re easy to wear bc they don’t have any adjustments or pockets or extra parts needed. I know that they’re polyester (idk what percentage), but that actually makes them a little more durable & easy to care for. They haven’t stained like others we’ve used & my daughter is terrible at wiping her mouth (she’s highly autistic & just can’t do it without a mirror). And even tho polyester isn’t known for it’s breathability, these work fine bc it’s just one layer of fabric. They don’t wrinkle either, which is something I’ve come to loathe in other masks (no way am I even going to *try* to iron something as small as a crumpled Kleenex, while trying to avoid the metal nose guard).I knew I might need to sew these, bc of the reviews saying the seams came apart in the wash or arrived unraveled, but mine were in perfect condition — no loose threads or anything. The seams were the first thing I checked, I even pulled on them, & they're all solid. I didn’t have to fix anything. I machine wash/dry them weekly & they’re still like new — no fading, staining, shrinking, unraveling. I don’t wash them in a netted laundry bag either; I used to (in a bigger bag of course), but they just don’t get as clean in a bag (we have an he top load washer, so the clothes have to agitate each other).I use the netted bag they came with as a storage bag, just to keep them all together. I think I put around 8 other masks in as well, but not ALL of the masks at the same time (bc there’s always some in the laundry basket). The only issue I have with this set is actually the bag; the unicorn horn is too heavy so it always flips over & gets in the way when I try to use the zipper. Nothing serious, just annoying. Oh & the ribbon thing (I forgot what it’s called) — it’s a little short & impractical. My daughter can’t articulate what issues she has with it, but she just won’t wear it anymore. She was super excited about those strap thingys bc they are “girly colors” (instead of the regular black ones she normally uses), but she only used them for 2 weeks before insisting on going back to the “normal” black ones (like typical lanyards).I don’t know what was wrong with the ones that caused all the negative reviews. Maybe those were factory seconds that weren’t supposed to be (or shouldn’t have been) sold. ??♀️ Mine were great. Nothing spectacular … but nothing I didn’t expect either. It’s a typical simple mask. I knew the type I was getting & it was what I wanted. My daughter loves all the cute prints & none of the “painted” ones have cracked or peeled. She also doesn’t object to wearing these masks & if they were uncomfortable in any way she would refuse. I’m glad I took a chance on these despite the bad reviews bc they’re exactly what we both wanted — enough for 2 weeks of school (plus a couple extra for “emergencies”), cute, comfortable, durable, easy to care for, easy to wear & easy to find (thanks to the included storage bag).
